A Virtual Desktop (VD) is a cloud based solution in which unique instances of a desktop PC are created over a single data center. All the user’s data, applications and preferences are also stored over the data center. The data center may be located in-house or outsourced from a Cloud Service Provider (CSP). Each VD can be assigned to a unique user, who will access the VD environment by providing login credentials such as User ID and Password. The user can access the VD from a variety of devices such as smartphone, tablet, laptop or desktop. Mostly, a web browser is used to access the VD. The end user experience over a VD is almost exactly similar to an average desktop PC. The only difference is that it is being hosted at a central location and accessed by some intermediary device.
